Massage therapy is beneficial for muscle, ligament and soft tissue health.

Becky Taylor, B.h.sc., B.A., R.M.T.

Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Headache, Pregnancy and Stress Reduction

Becky has been practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) since May 2006, after successfully completing the 3000-hour program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy locally in Victoria. Her first job as a massage therapist was at a remote fishing lodge in the Queen Charlotte Islands during the summers of 2006 and 2007. The experience gave her the opportunity to work with many different people and conditions in a condensed period of time. Being at the lodge helped her develop the skills needed to use therapeutic techniques while keeping the treatment relaxing and enjoyable. Becky then started working permanently in Victoria in October 2007 and decided to open her own clinic in January 2009. In August, 2009 Becky also completed her Bachelor of Health Sciences with a focus in Massage Therapy.

“I am so excited to welcome my existing clientele to my new space and to work with new patients. My goal for my patients is for them to feel better and be able to enjoy life to the fullest.”

Sarah Clyne, R.M.T.

Myofascial Release, Headache, Pregnancy, Trigger Point Therapy, Basic Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Stress Reduction and Therapeutic Exercise all while maintaining an overall relaxing treatment

Sarah has been practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist since May 2006, after successfully completing the 3000-hour program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. Her first career opportunity took her north of Vancouver Island to work at the Spa and Wellness Center located at the Sonora Resort and Fishing Lodge. This opportunity solidified her belief in the therapeutic value of relaxation and the role it can play in conjunction with the treatment techniques of a massage therapist in a clinic environment.  Sarah has worked in Victoria at a multidisciplinary clinic since October 2006 and has now started at Renew Massage Therapy as of January 2009.

“I look forward to seeing my patients in our new space and to meeting new patients.  My intentions in treatment are to bring relief and comfort to people’s lives through massage therapy.”

Illya Borreson, R.Ac.

Specialized Acupuncture for Weight Loss and Body Reshaping

Illya Borreson obtained his Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine Degree at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine here in Victoria, BC in 2002. He concluded his studies with an internship at Tianjing Second University Hospital in Tianjing, China. His intensive experience there sparked a profound appreciation for Chinese culture, philosophy and tradition.

Upon Illya’s second trip to China in 2006, he worked at the reputable Shanghai East International Medical Center. After a year and a half of observing a wide variety of health modalities at the hospital, Illya then moved to southeast Thailand where he joined the team at Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary. Recognized for its outstanding TCM department and signature health retreats, Kamalaya is one of the leading medical spas in Asia. While practicing in Koh Samui, Illya also trained under his esteemed colleague and mentor Dr. Bruce Song (OMD, China) specializing in Weight Loss and Body Reshaping Acupuncture.

Dr. Song – a graduate of SHUTCM – studied under the influence of three nationally renowned doctors in China on the use of TCM in a cosmetic (non surgical) medical capacity. From the hybrid teachings of these doctors, Dr. Song created a highly successful program which he has implemented on an international scope of patients for the past six years. Illya learned this specialized technique and has yielded excellent results. He is pleased to now offer this program in Canada.

When praised for his skills as an acupuncturist, Illya claims that he and his patients work as a team: “Together, as you follow the program, we will reshape your body and achieve better health.” Having lived in India, Thailand and China, Illya has now relocated back to Victoria, where he looks forward to sharing his dynamic experience with his patients at Renew.
